I'm Francine founder of Have a Dream Birth, I qualified as a midwife 20 years ago, learnt so much and loved every moment. I have been fortunate as an NHS midwife to have only worked on the delivery suite for two years. I have been able to grow from a baby midwife into a homebirth midwife with a passion for physiological birth, its now time to become an independent midwife. I am thankful for the NHS as it has given me the privilege of attending many beautiful births, but it has now become frustrating to work within an institution that does not value choice, consent, honesty or safety. 

 

I'm passionate about empowering Mothers to experience birth on their terms.

I have spent the majority of my career being a homebirth team leader, I worked on a busy delivery suite at the beginning of my career for a couple of years. I gained a lot of useful skills but being a great midwife is about knowing when your skills are needed. Understanding how and when to do nothing and having the experience and confidence to trust the birth process. 

 

I count my self as being extremely fortunate to have been able to develop my practice in the home environment. Where I have been witness to true Physiological Birth. This is difficult if you are working within a medical institute, as my practice has evolved through experience over time. I have come to the point where I find it very difficult to watch midwifery turn into something unrecognisable. Where you have to witness families suffer unnecessary.

 

I'm so excited for this new chapter of my career.............
